Arietta is owned by Fritz + Caren Hatton. They started the venture with their original partner and winemaker John Kongsgaard in 1996. Fritz has over four decades of experience in the fine and rare wine business and in addition to being a vintner is the nation’s foremost wine auctioneer. Winemaker Andy Erickson assumed complete control of winemaking at Arietta with the 2006 vintage. Erickson’s first project for Arietta was the development of its first ever white wine, On The White Keys.
Sleight of Hand Cellars was established by Trey Busch, Jerry and Sandy Solomon in 2007 in Walla Walla, WA. Trey’s love of music is one of the reasons he ended up in the Pacific Northwest. In 2000, Trey was offered the opportunity to move his family to Walla Walla and get into the wine business with Dunham Cellars. Eric Dunham gave Trey the foundation for his winemaking and philosophy. Trey fell in love with the winemaking process on the 1st day of crush in September 2000 and that journey lead him to Sleight of Hand Cellars.
